2013 Masters cut line: Tianlang Guan, Bubba Watson make the weekend

It was close, but defending Masters champion Bubba Watson and 14-year-old Tianlang Guan both made the cut at the 2013 Masters.

The second round of the 2013 Masters is complete and despite some nervous moments down the stretch, both Tianlang Guan and Bubba Watson made the cut.

With Jason Day finishing the second round in the lead at 6-under, the cut line was set at 4-over. Watson, the defending Masters champion, appeared to be safe, but a bogey on No. 18 left him with some nervous moments as Day finished out his round. Watson narrowly missed becoming the first Masters champion to miss the cut since Mike Weir suffered the fate in 2004.

Guan, the 14-year-old from China, also finished 4-over, making the cut despite being the youngest player in Masters history. Guan would have had some more breathing room, but he was assessed a one-stroke penalty for slow play. If Day had birdied either No. 17 or No. 18, both Watson and Guan would have been on the outside looking in.

Although Guan and Watson made the cut, a few notable names did not. Graeme McDowell and Webb Simpson just narrowly missed the cut as both finished at 5-over. Louis Oosthuizen at 6-over, Ian Poulter at 7-over and Padraig Harrington at 9-over also missed the cut.
