The Masters 2013: Who is Thorbjorn Olesen?

He’s making a run at the Masters title, but do YOU know who Thorbjorn Olesen is?

David Cannon

The Masters is winding down and a slew of recognizable names are near the top of the leaderboard. And then there’s Thorbjorn Olesen. You may be thinking, “Who is this guy?”

A native of the golf mecca otherwise known as Fureso, Denmark, Olesen turned pro in 2008 at the age of 18. Since that time he has won six professional events, most notably the European Tour’s 2012 Sicilian Open. He also won an event named The Princess on the Challenge Tour in 2010, but we won’t hold that against him.

Prior to today, Olesen’s best finish at a major was the 2012 British Open where he tied for ninth place.

Currently at 4-under par and playing his final hole of The Masters, Olesen is a mere four shots behind leader Angel Cabrera. There is a substantial chance that the 23-year-old will be our clubhouse leader upon the completion of his round.
