2013 Masters purse: Adam Scott takes home $1.44 million with Masters victory

Adam Scott claimed the green jacket on Sunday and in doing so he also took home a first-place prize of nearly $1.5 million.

After an exciting finish, Adam Scott is the 2013 Masters champion. In addition to claiming the green jacket, he will also take home a sizable first-place prize. By winning the Masters, Scott claimed $1.44 million of the $8 million purse.

The top of the leaderboard was tight with Angel Cabrera finishing in second place after losing the playoff. Jason Day finished two strokes behind in third. Both players will still take home a significant amount of money. Cabrera may have lost the playoff, but he will win a consolation prize of $864,000. Day faltered down the stretch, but still finished in third place and will receive a check for $544,000.

In addition to the top three, a number of other players will claim sizable winnings. The official earnings have yet to be released, but here is a look at the unofficial top 10, including ties.

1st: Adam Scott, $1,440,000

2nd: Angel Cabrera, $864,000

3rd: Jason Day, $544,000

T-4th: Tiger Woods, $352,000

T-4th: Marc Leishman, $352,000

T-6th: Brandt Snedeker, $278,000

T-6th: Thorbjorn Olesen, $278,000

T-8th: Sergio Garcia, $232,000

T-8th: Lee Westwood, $232,000

T-8th: Matt Kuchar, $232,000

The payouts are similar to the 2012 Masters payout.
