Bud Cauley rose 25 spots into the top 5 of the Valero Texas Open with a strong start on Saturday.


Cauley started the day in 29th place at 2-under after finishing with a 71 in the first two rounds. However, Cauley birdied three straight holes and four out of five while making par on the other five holes on the front nine to move up 24 spots into a tie for fourth place.
Billy Horschel remains atop the leaderboard at 9-under for the tournament. He is 1-under through three holes on Saturday. Charley Hoffman is in second place at 8-under overall, and Jim Furyk has moved up two spots into third place and is two strokes back of Horschel.
Bob Estes jumped into the top 10, moving from 15th place to seventh by going 2-under through eight holes. He is 5-under overall.
