The Players Championship 2013 scores: Sergio Garcia, Tiger Woods top leaderboard

Sergio Garcia and Rory McIlroy headed in opposite directions on Friday.

Sergio Garcia caught fire at the second round of the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass on Friday, shooting a 65 to move up nine spots to the top of the leaderboard heading into the weekend. Garcia is at 11-under through two rounds, which is enough to give him a one-stroke lead over Tiger Woods.

Woods has been his steady self, shooting 67 on both days of the tournament to hover around the top of the leaderboard with two rounds still to go. If not for Garcia’s big round, Woods would be at the top.

Kevin Chappell and Lee Westwood are right behind Woods and Garcia at 9-under par after shooting 6-under par in Friday’s second round. Both jumped up 14 spots on the leaderboard.

While those four shot up the board, Rory McIlroy may have been the biggest story of the afternoon. After shooting 6-under par on Thursday, McIlroy shot even par on Friday and dropped 11 spots.

Coverage of the Players Championship continues on the Golf Channel at noon Saturday and will switch over to NBC at 2 p.m. ET. Here is a look at the top of the leaderboard heading into the weekend. Take note of Matt Kuchar, who shot 6-under to move up 45 spots into a tie for ninth place.
