The leaders at The Players Championship have yet to tee off at Sawgrass for Saturday’s third round, but there has already been some movement behind Sergio Garcia and Tiger Woods.
The Players Championship leaderboard: Louis Oosthuizen making moves, Bubba Watson falling
Bubba Watson is off to a rough start in the third round of The Players Championship, but Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace are making moves early.
A pair of South Africans, Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace, are 5-under par for the day, moving them both into a tie for 20th. Six golfers, including Jason Day and Padraig Harrington, are behind them at 2-under par for the round.
It’s not all going great today, though. Bubba Watson is 2-over par through seven holes, and has moved back to 1-over par for the tournament and into a tie for 70th. Watson actually birdied the first hole, but took a double-bogey on the fourth hole and a bogey on the seventh hole. Any chance he had of getting back into the tournament, even if it was slim, is probably gone at this point.
Garcia still leads by himself at 11-under par, and Woods is hot on his trail at 10-under par.
