After winning the 2013 Players Championship, Tiger Woods pocketed his $1.71 million winner’s share of the $9.5 million total purse. He has now inched closer to the $6-million mark for the season, which is absolutely ridiculous.
The Players Championship 2013 purse: Tiger pockets $1.7 million with win
Tiger Woods had a huge pay day on Sunday thanks to winning his second Players Championship.

The winner’s share is almost $700,000 more than the second place finisher ($1.026 million). Although, I’m not so sure the Players rookie David Lingmerth, who finished in a three-way tie for second and earned $709,333, will mind too much.
The prize money breakdown has remained consistent since 2008, when Sergio Garcia won his one and only Players Championship. Here is a breakdown of how everyone fared on Sunday:

As you can see, the final leaderboard was jammed with top players from around the world. Every player in the top 10 will make at least nearly a quarter of a million dollars, thanks to what is the biggest purse of the year (other than the $10 million pay day for winning the FedEx Cup at the end of the year).
Woods remains the leading money winner and FedEx Cup point leader for 2013, and he padded to both following today’s victory.
