Roberto Castro holds a commanding lead after finishing Round 1 at the 2013 Players Championship at 9-under, but several players, including Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, are still in play and could crowd the top of the leaderboard before the day is out. Woods and Mickelson are 3-under and 1-under through 10 and 11 holes, respectively.
2013 Players Championship leaderboard: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson make their way up
Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson are trying to play catch-up to Robert Castro’s big day at the 2013 Players Championship on Thursday.

As Brendan Porath pointed out earlier, Woods is not a fan of the windy conditions that have taken over for the afternoon group at TPC Sawgrass. He managed to post back-to-back birdies on holes 9 and 10, however, to put himself within shouting distance of a spot in the top 10.
Mickelson has more work to do than Woods on the back nine. He has made par on his last five holes after sandwiching a bogey on No. 4 between birdies on No. 2 and No. 6.
