The second round of the 2013 U.S. Open won’t conclude until Saturday morning, and a few notable players will go to sleep right on the cut line. At the time play was suspended on Friday, the cut was projected at 8-over, which leaves players such as Bubba Watson, Matt Kuchar and Brandt Snedeker in limbo.

The top 60 players, plus ties, will make the cut, and with plenty of golf still to play in the second round, the cut line could still move. Snedeker is 8-over through two rounds, one of 23 players tied for 66th place. Depending on how difficult Merion Golf Club plays on Saturday morning, he could wind up on the outside looking in.
Watson and Kuchar have a little more breathing room at 7-over, but neither player will be safe until second-round play is finished. Lee Westwood and Adam Scott are also among the players sitting at 7-under. Michael Thompson, who finished second at the 2012 U.S. Open, is likely to fall just on the wrong side of the cut line. He sits at 9-over through two rounds after an 8-over 78 on Friday. A lot would have to break right for the cut line to move beyond 8-over.
While a few players will wait for their fate’s to be decided after the second round resumes, a few other notable names know they will not make the weekend, regardless of what happens Saturday morning. Zach Johnson (11-over), Keegan Bradley (12-over), Nick Watney (12-over), Graeme McDowell (13-over) and Jim Furyk (16-over) will be among the players missing the cut.
