2013 U.S. Open final round weather forecast, chance of showers

Final round of the U.S. Open at Merion Golf Club will feature a chance of showers and storms both in the morning and again in the afternoon. The above image is a hi-resolution model showing that from 11 a.m EDT until 7 p.m. EDT there could be waves of showers and storms possible across southeastern Pennsylvania. As a storm system moves out of of the Great Lakes later today, a series of disturbances will move through setting off a couple rounds of showers and even thunderstorms.

Expect any rain during the morning to be light with little to no lightning. Once the first wave is done there will be long periods of dry weather with clouds and sunshine. The second wave of showers, and possible thunderstorms, will arrive late afternoon into the early evening. This could cause problems and possible delays for the final pairings.

SUNDAY - FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
This morning a few light showers are possible across the region and temperatures through noon will be in the mid to upper 70s. For early afternoon, we will see a mix of sunshine and clouds as temperatures warm into the low 80s. By the late afternoon and early evening another round of showers and possible thunderstorms could form. Temperatures will be in the low 80s to upper 70s. Winds for the day will be breezy out of the southwest between 10 to 20 mph.
