Justin Rose has teamed up with Tiger Woods under the umbrella of Excel Sports Management.
Justin Rose enlists with Tiger Woods’ management firm
Justin Rose leaves his his European manager for the greener fields of Tiger Woods and Mark Steinberg’s Excel Sports.

The newly crowned U.S. Open champion has left 4Sports & Entertainment in favor of Mark Steinberg’s Excel, Rose confirmed Thursday at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. He’ll bring an endorsement upside that increased exponentially after nailing down his first major win on Sunday at brutally tough Merion Golf Club.
“The timing kind of ironic, I suppose, with everything that’s happened,” Rose told reporters after shooting a 3-under 67 in the first round of the Travelers Championship. “But it’s a decision I made quite some time ago and things take some time to figure themselves out, obviously. The last few months have been things working themselves out.”
Rose thanked his former manager for “the good six years” he had with the Swiss-based firm. He explained that, “with me playing so much here in the States and where I felt my game was going, I felt like it was a decision that I wanted to make to move on.”
4Sports confirmed the move to Golfweek’s Jim McCabe earlier in the day. McCabe noted that Excel, whose clients in addition to Woods include PGA Tour players Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland, Tiger’s niece Cheyenne Woods, and Danielle Kang of the LPGA was a better fit for the English golfer than his former team, whose bread and butter was representing professional hockey players.
Rose joined Rory McIlroy as another high-profile major champion switching management teams, though the world’s second-ranked golfer had yet to confirm reports that he quit Horizon Sports Management to form his own management company.
Rose plays TaylorMade golf gear. His corporate sponsors include Zurich, Ashworth, and British Airways, though McCabe said the 32-year-old, 11-time PGA/Euro Tour winner was looking to boost his endorsement deals.
