Tiger Woods is struggling to stay in contention on Sunday at the British Open, but shots like the one he hit at the 14th will help him get back in the mix.
British Open 2013: Tiger Woods hits one close
It’s been a rough day for Tiger Woods thus far, but he drilled his approach shot into No. 14.

Woods has struggled with his approach shots in the final round, rarely leaving anything closer than 20 feet for birdie. That changed, at least for a hole, on No. 14 when Woods hit a perfect approach that landed short and caught the slope just right. It rolled right to the pin, threatening an eagle, before settling just inches from the cup.
Woods tapped in for birdie and is 1-over. As ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt would say, useful shot. Useful.
