Phil Mickelson won his first Open Championship title on Sunday and will receive a rather large check in addition to the Claret Jug.

Phil Mickelson’s 5-under 66 in the final round propelled him to the first British Open win of his career, but it also made him a lot of money. With the win, Mickelson will take home the $1.4 million first-place prize.

Mickelson began the day in a tie for ninth place, so his dominant final round earned him well over a million dollars. The purse is one of the largest Mickelson has won in his career and will take his career on-course earnings to nearly $72.5 million. That’s just the tip of the iceberg as Mickelson, like most players, will likely earn bonuses from his sponsors for winning another major championship. All told, Mickelson is likely to take home more than $2 million for his effort.

Henrik Stenson finished alone in second place and by doing so will receive $826,874. Lee Westwood opened the final round with the lead, but struggled down the final stretch, dropping from 3-under to 1-over. Westwood was denied his first major championship, but will take home a decent consolation prize in a check worth nearly $500,000.

The British Open purse increased by $379,300 this year, according to Kyle Porter of CBS Sports. As a result, each of the players finishing in the top 10 will earn at least $166,892. Here is a look at the payout for the top 10:
