Brendan Steele leads a compacted field at the 2013 RBC Canadian Open after Thursday. Steele shot a 7-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead going into Friday over Scott Brown, Scott Gariner and Matt Kuchar. David Lingmerth and Hunter Mahan are currently two shots back of Steele, and nine players, including Bubba Watson, are tied for seventh place at three shots off the lead.

A relatively easy course at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario, could keep play tight throughout the weekend. Steele made birdie eight times on Thursday, and shot bogey once on the par-4 No. 9.

Brandt Snedeker was the odds-on favorite to win the Open heading into Thursday, but so far he hasn’t enjoyed the same low scores as everyone else. He is still in striking distance of the top of the leaderboard at 2-under, though he currently finds himself in a 12-way tie for 29th-place.

Below is the current Top 10 (plus ties) in Ontario. A full leaderboard can be found at PGATour.com.
