PGA Championship leaderboard 2013: Jason Dufner still leads, Oak Hill bites back

Jason Dufner is off to a steady start on Saturday with two pars to open his third round. He continues to lead at 9-under and the leaderboard is beginning to thin out.

Dufner nearly moved double-digits into the red on his first hole, just missing a birdie putt. He tapped in for par and added another par on No. 2, thanks to an excellent chip shot out of the rough. Adam Scott cut Dufner’s lead to one stroke with a birdie on the first hole, only to give it right back on No. 2. Another bogey on No. 3 dropped Scott to 6-under.

Scott isn’t the only player in contention with a bogey on his card early. Several players who began the day near the lead have fallen off. Justin Rose began the round at 6-under only to drop three shots with bogey on No. 2 and a double bogey on No. 3. Back-to-back bogeys on the second and thrid dropped Jim Furyk to 5-under. Matt Kuchar moved to 8-under with a birdie on No. 1, then gave it back and more with a double bogey on No. 3.

Players had their way with Oak Hill during the first two rounds, but it appears the classic course is providing a much tougher test on the weekend. The wind has picked up, which could be causing some of the early struggles. Multiple players have had issues out of the rough and the player who does the best job of finding the fairway off the tee may have the best chance to post a low number.
