PGA Championship tee times 2013: Pairings set for round 1 and 2

While all eyes were on Firestone and Tiger’s attempt at breaking 60, the PGA of America released pairings and tee times for the bigger prize next week at Oak Hill.

With the field set for the 2013 PGA Championship at Oak Hill, the PGA of America released the pairings and tee times for the first two rounds next week in Rochester. They started by teasing the two marquee groups on opposite ends of the draw with tweets sent out in advance of Friday afternoon’s official announcement. The Thursday morning headline group will feature Tiger Woods, Keegan Bradley, and Davis Love III. That was the first group announced for this year’s championship, a teaser sent out around Noon ET on Friday.

Three hours later, the PGA released the second headline group, although its members were not a surprise:

That is a traditional group at the PGA Championship, which places the season’s first three major winners together for Thursday and Friday. In some years, there may be a weak link or two in the group but this year’s winners are three of the heavyweights in golf. As you’d expect, No. 2 player in the world Mickelson will be on the opposite end of the schedule from No. 1 player in the world Woods. This year’s major champions will be out at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, with their entire first round falling within the TNT coverage window. Tiger will likely be done with his first round by the time TV coverage starts on Thursday, and then have every shot shown on Friday afternoon.

Here’s the complete list of pairings along with the tee sheet for Thursday:
