Keegan Bradley set the Liberty National course record on Friday with an 8-under-par 63 in his second round at The Barclays, stealing the thunder from a rip-roaring Rickie Fowler, who, playing two groups in front of the 2011 PGA Champ, tied the mark a few minutes earlier.

Each golfer will enter the weekend of the first of four FedEx Cup playoff events at 7-under and at least two shots back of the leader, who early on Friday evening was Webb Simpson, who fired a 66. With the afternoon wave of players still on the course in the weather-delayed contest, the two were tied with Masters winner Adam Scott, who carded a 66 earlier on Friday.
Meanwhile, Tiger Woods, also at 7-under after carding three birdies in the first six holes of his second round, was steaming his way up the leader board. Woods, who was bogey-free through 24 holes, shot a 67 on Thursday and started his second round after 4 p.m. ET.
Bradley, for his part, shot a 31 on his outgoing nine, while Fowler did him one better before making the turn. With Woods on a tear, however, the world No. 1 may leave both contenders in his dust.
