WGC-Bridgestone Invitational 2013: TV coverage for Sunday’s final round

Old friend Jim Nantz will have the call yet again for another Tiger Woods’ victory.

The final round of the 2013 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational begins bright and early Sunday, but a full day of golf will not change who’s sitting at the top of the leaderboard at the end of the tournament. Tiger Woods will win his eighth WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, starting his final round with a seven-shot lead over Henrik Stenson.

It’s been another impressive week for Woods at a place where he’s dominated throughout his career. Having already picked up wins at Torrey Pines, Doral and Bay Hill this year, it’s only natural that Woods adds his 79th PGA Tour win at Firestone. It was a much needed showing for Woods, who had been underwhelming in his last two tournaments -- the U.S. Open and British Open, where he flamed out on Sunday. The incredible run in the second round, where it looked like he would easily break 60, gave him an insurmountable lead and ensured he would roll into Oak Hill and the season’s final major off a victory.

CBS will have expanded coverage on Sunday, coming on the air an hour earlier than their typical start time. The broadcast begins at 2 p.m. ET and will run until 6 p.m., or the conclusion of the final round. Tiger tees off at 2:05 p.m., so CBS will have every single shot on his march to victory. This being a WGC event, the no-cut limited field features 48 of the top 50 players in the world, and they’ve all been making their way around the course in about four hours. It’s a brisk pace for a PGA Tour event these days, and they’ll be back to twosomes on Sunday with no major weather disruptions expected. Golf Channel will also have their typical Sunday coverage before handing things off to CBS. Here’s the TV schedule for Sunday’s final round in Akron:

Sunday, Aug. 4

Golf Channel (Live Extra simulcast) -- 12 to 1:30 p.m.

CBS (live simulcast on PGATour.com) -- 2 to 6 p.m.
