PGA Championship 2013 projected cut: Brandt Snedeker, Bubba Watson on the bubble

A few notable names may not be around for the weekend at Oak Hill as they are currently on the wrong side of the cut line.

The second round of the 2013 PGA Championship is in full swing and as things currently stand, Bubba Watson and Brandt Snedeker will be among the notable players missing the cut.

The top 70 players plus ties will make the weekend and the current cut line is projected at 2-over. Snedeker is right on the cusp of the line at 3-over. He shot a 3-over 73 and will need a few of the players currently at 2-over to drop a stroke. Harris English is also 3-over.

Watson is unlikely to be around for the weekend as at 4-over, he’ll need a lot of help if he’s going to make the cut. Watson was 3-over on his first nine holes, finishing the second round with a 4-over 74. Martin Laird is also 4-over with one hole left in his round. Ernie Els begins the round at 4-over and will need to come in under par on the day if he’s going to stick around.

Former No. 1 player in the world Luke Donald finished his round at 5-over, so the Englishman’s pursuit of a first major will continue.

Phil Mickelson and Ian Poulter are currently safe, but they’ll need to avoid trouble coming in. Both are 2-over with a few holes left in their second rounds.
