Peyton Manning, John Elway shoot commercial for 2014 BMW Championship

There are no audibles for Peyton Manning in his latest -- and silent -- commercial to let golf fans know of ticket availability for the 2014 BMW Championship at Cherry Hills Country Club outside Denver.

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The Columbus Dispatch may have confused Peyton Manning with John Elway when the current Denver Broncos QB matched an NFL seven-touchdown record Thursday night against Baltimore, but perhaps that’s because both football legends star in a commercial for next year’s BMW Championship. The third of four FedExCup playoff events on the PGA Tour calendar will take place at Cherry Hills Country Club outside Denver, thus the lineup of past and present Denver stars in the ad.

Here’s a hint for the Dispatch writer: Elway’s the guy on the far left, with a few years -- and pounds -- on the author of Denver’s 49-27 season-opening rout of the defending Super Bowl champs (second from the right, between former Bronco John Lynch and University of Colorado/ex-Denver Nuggets cager Chauncey Billups, in the video). Looks as if the two-time world champion may also need some remedial work in learning how to raise those “Quiet Please” signs.

The 2014 BMW Championship is slated to take place from Sept. 4-7.
