Patrick Reed recreates Ryder Cup ‘shush’ moment with Euro Ryder Cup team

Patrick Reed poses for a photo with members of the conquering European team, proving the brash American can still smile despite his squad’s soul-sucking Ryder Cup loss.

With no end in sight to the hand-wringing, finger-pointing and solution-seeking sparked by last month’s Gleneagles outcome, leave it to the excitable boy, Patrick Reed, to put the Americans’ loss into perspective.

Reed, the sole U.S. golfer in this week’s Volvo World Match Play Championship at London Golf Club, kicked off the event by posing playfully with members of the opposing European squad for a photo goofing on his now-notorious “Shhh” moment at Gleneagles.

Reed, who made a 3-0-1 splash in his Ryder Cup debut in September, made a lasting impression on Scottish fans by trying to shut them up after sinking a birdie putt.

Kudos to the three-time PGA Tour winner for going behind enemy lines to tee it up and yuk it up with Euro teammates Henrik Stenson, Graeme McDowell, Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson and Stephen Gallacher.

“Am I going to get probably as rowdy as I did at The Ryder Cup?” asked Reed, who rocketed to fame with his “top five” comment after winning at Doral in March, about his first start in England. “Probably not.”
