PGA Tour sets up pools for fans at Las Vegas tournament
Above-ground pools have arrived on the PGA Tour.

The high is supposed to be in the mid-80s each day at this week’s Shriners Hospital for Children Open, which is back at TPC Summerlin just outside Las Vegas. That should be suitable pool weather for the golf enthusiasts. So tournament organizers have put multiple above-ground pools on the course.

Whether it’s TPC Scottsdale or The Players or this week’s event, these tournaments on the PGA Tour are all trying to outdo each other with different features out on the course for fans (most of which promote non-traditional rowdiness). This is just the latest gimmick or fan feature and I’m sure you’ll see these on the broadcast throughout the weekend. They all look to be set pretty far off the fairway and out of range of even the worst slice or shank.

Perhaps Billy Payne and his fellow members at Augusta National are now inspired to put one of these down at Amen Corner.
