Tom Brady drills an eagle at Pebble Beach

Tom Brady makes the highlight reel with a one-putt eagle during Saturday’s second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

Tom Brady may have had an earlier exit from the year’s football season than he wished, but at least New England’s superstar quarterback has a highlight reel for his efforts at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.

With a few teams yet to finish the third round in the weather-delayed festivities, Brady -- playing with PGA Tour partner Ricky Barnes -- were T46 after their three turns around the circuit at this week’s clambake. That put them well out of the top-25 or so pro-am twosomes who will tee it up in Sunday’s final round.

But Brady did have the shot of the tournament, better than anything his rival and AFC Champion Peyton Manning could offer. Playing to an 8 handicap, QB12 hit a terrific approach shot to within 10 feet on the par-5 second hole during Saturday’s third round and proceeded to drain his putt for an eagle.

The HC of Brady’s Patriots, Bill Belichick, played a practice round with Manning and was T57 with partner James Driscoll and was also packing up his sticks for another year. But, hey, the legendary NFL duo still boasts those three Lombardi Trophies to Peyton’s one!
