Caroline Wozniacki’s hot pink hair dye for the Masters was Rory McIlroy’s idea

Caroline Wozniacki’s normally blonde hair got a makeover ahead of this week’s Masters, and it seems fiancé Rory McIlroy had something to do with dying her hair hot pink.

Caroline Wozniacki made quite a splash at Wednesday’s Par-3 Contest, showing up as she did for the second straight year as caddie for fiancé Rory McIlroy, but this time with her hair dyed hot pink and then drilling a putt from downtown.

Turns out the two-time major golf champion had a hand in his tennis star betrothed’s switch from regulation PGA Tour spouse blonde to a color that better matched the flowery blossoms for which Augusta National is renowned.

“I just wanted it to match the azaleas,” McIlroy told Augusta.com after watching the distaff half of Wozilroy make a putt for the ages and finishing at 1-under in the family-friendly fun contest held annually before the real deal begins on Thursday.

As for the 30-foot putt, Wozniacki was full of bombast about her skills on the green.

“I take credit for that putt,” she said. “He told me, ‘Putt it somewhere around here,’ and lined up the putt.”

To which hubby responded, “She’s good at following instructions.”

Perhaps the former No. 1, a favorite heading into the week, with Tiger Woods rehabbing after back surgery, will listen to one specific tip from the future Mrs. Wozniacki-McIlroy: Don’t leave ‘em short.

Oh, and not to be outdone, Ms. Golf Digest May 2014 showed up at the end of the competition to join her fiancé, Dustin Johnson, who was paired with McIlroy. Paulina Gretzky, who for her second consecutive year, did not don the white Masters caddie jumpsuit, as Wozniacki did, appeared in black fitness pants and black vest over a t-shirt, according to Augusta.com.
