Notah Begay, PGA Tour golfer, NBC/Golf Channel analyst, and good friend of Tiger Woods, should be back at work within a few weeks after suffering a heart attack last week in Dallas, according to Golf Channel Digital.

Notah Begay says he’ll be back under the headset and walking the course for NBC and Golf Channel soon.

Methodist Hospital cardiologist Dr. Mark Jenkins inserted a stent to unblock the right coronary artery of the 41-year-old Begay, who has a family history of heart disease and should recover fully, according to the report.
“I’m extremely grateful for the expert care I received from Dr. Jenkins and his staff,” Begay said. “I anticipate a full recovery and feel lucky to be at home resting with my family. I appreciate the outpouring of well wishes I’ve received from family, friends and fans and I will be back covering golf once I’m fully recovered.”
The four-time tour winner, whose Notah Begay III Foundation supports health and wellness programs for Native American youth and received a national award last week for its efforts, recently termed Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder’s new Original Americans Foundation “a gimmick.” Begay has also commented on Woods’ health problems, predicting his former Stanford teammate would miss June’s U.S. Open as he continues to rehab from back surgery.
