I’m sure there’s another course on the PGA Tour where this can happen, one just doesn’t come to mind at the moment.
Only at TPC Sawgrass

— Golf Central (@GolfCentral) May 8, 2014 Some argue all the water at Sawgrass tricks up the Stadium Course layout in spots, but it’s also what makes this tournament so good for TV and casual fans. Who cares about extremely undulating greens or tight fairways that ruin rounds? The people demand golf balls nosediving into the water.
It’s better to have your round ruined at this stretch on Thursday, than embarrass yourself in Dye’s omnipresent bodies of water on Sunday. Pettersson can seek counsel from Sergio Garcia, who put it in the drink three times in the final two holes last year.
