While scoring conditions were pretty favorable for a U.S. Open on Thursday, a few of the greens were still up to the edge and the USGA’s Mike Davis said they were watching a some of them closely. The 6th, 9th, and 15th greens, in particular, were playing the most borderline, but an overnight downpour should soften everything up for the second round.
