With a little more moisture hitting the Pinehurst area on Friday night, it didn’t look like the conditions would change too much at the U.S. Open. But a steady wind and less humidity on Saturday morning should have things firmed up and running faster late in the day when the leaders tee off at 3:25 p.m. ET.

The putting surfaces should also be running around a 12 on the stimpmeter for the third round.

It’s a must-make birdie for anyone with designs of putting a scare into 36-hole leader Martin Kaymer, who’s up six shots.
