Tiger Woods’ comeback from back surgery got off to a bit of a rough start on Thursday when he bogeyed seven of his first 12 holes before rallying with three birdies to finish at 3-over. Woods was far from the only golfer struggling on the difficult Congressional track, but he will likely need to play better on Friday if he’s going to be around for the weekend.

After playing in the morning wave on Thursday, Tiger Woods will tee it up in the afternoon on Friday, joined by Jordan Spieth and Jason Day.

Woods played in the morning wave on Thursday, but will tee it up in the afternoon in the second round, allowing viewers to watch some of his round live. He is scheduled to go off the first tee at 1:12 p.m. ET, joined by Jason Day and Jordan Spieth. All three ran into some issues on Thursday, with Day coming in with a 2-over 73 and Spieth joining Woods at 3-over. Similar issues on Friday and all three may be headed home early. Television coverage is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. on Golf Channel, which means Woods, Spieth and Day will be featured predominantly. They will likely be a few holes in when coverage begins and should be the focal point of the round.
They won’t, however, be the only notable group playing in the afternoon. The threesome of Brendon Todd, Webb Simpson and Brandt Snedeker will tee off at 1 p.m. Patrick Reed, Vijay Singh and first-round leader Greg Chalmers will also be in the afternoon wave.
At 4-over, Keegan Bradley will open the second round nine shots off the lead. He’ll have an opportunity to make up ground early, playing in the morning wave. Bradley will play with Justin Rose and Ernie Els, with the three set to tee off at 8:12 a.m. Here is a full look at the second-round tee sheet. All times Eastern.
