How to watch Saturday of the Quicken Loans National online, TV schedule and more

It was a rough first two rounds for several of the notable names in the Quicken Loans National field, including Tiger Woods. The result is a wide open leaderboard with Woods, Jason Dufner and Keegan Bradley among the players who missed the cut. The third round will open with four players tied for the lead at 6-under and a dozen at 3-under or better.

Even though Woods and a few other notable players didn’t make the weekend, there are a few big names in contention. Marc Leishman is one of the players tied for the lead at 6-under and he’s joined by fellow Australian Oliver Goss, who is playing in just his second tournament as a professional. Patrick Reed and Ricky Barnes will also begin moving day at 6-under while Billy Horschel and Justin Rose are among the players just a couple of shots off the pace. Congressional yielded more low scores on Friday than it did in the opening round, so depending on conditions, the third round could either be a time to make a run, or a time to simply survive.

There will be plenty on the line on the weekend in addition to the $6.5 million purse. The Quicken Loans National is the first of three PGA Tour tournaments in the Open Championship Qualifying Series. Four players who finish in the top 12 at Congressional and who aren’t already qualified for The Open will receive a bid to the tournament. Only five of the seven players in the top 12 to open Saturday are currently qualified for the British Open. That means players like Goss, Barnes, Stuart Appleby and Freddie Jacobson will be playing with more at stake.

Viewers will be able to see much of the action unfold on Saturday with extended television coverage from Golf Channel and CBS. The two networks will combine for more than four hours of live television coverage, with Golf Channel scheduled to begin its broadcast at 1 p.m. ET. The coverage will run until 2:30 p.m. Following a 30-minute break in coverage, CBS will begin its broadcast at 3 p.m which will run through the rest of the round.

In addition to being able to watch on television, viewers can also watch the live coverage online with a pair of online streams. Golf Channel’s broadcast will be available via a live simulcast from Golf LiveExtra. Viewers need to authenticate their cable subscription to access the stream. There will also be a simulcast of CBS’ coverage available on PGATour.com.
