Jason Dufner took some time out from a practice round at Pinehurst to chat about how the course sets up for this week’s U.S. Open, but most incredibly, did not address the newly shorn mop of hair underneath that cap with an “X” where the “Titleist” is usually stitched.
Jason Dufner talks Pinehurst, neglects to discuss his new haircut
Has anyone seen Jason Dufner’s wild and crazy hair? The reigning PGA champion reveals a new ‘do just in time for the U.S. Open.

Dufner, known among PGA Tour enthusiasts not only for his stoic demeanor and the “Dufnering” craze, but for “that hair,” as Kyle Porter observed earlier this year about the wind-blown coiffure the reigning PGA champion has sported for some time. Dufner’s wild mane sparked an Internet campaign to get him to take the pruning shears to his untamed thatch and pretty much blew up Twitter after he took his hat off to congratulate Ernie Els on beating him in match play in February (photo above).
Despite “Pinehurst1895” (Alex Podlogar, according to Geoff Shackleford) eschewing the whole hair angle, it appears that Dufner answered at least one tweetist’s question when he removed his lid to reveal his nearly (by comparison) bald look.
