John Deere Classic 2014: Tee times, TV schedule and online streaming for Friday’s second round

The full field will be back on the course at TPC Deere Run on Friday and red figures are likely to be bountiful.

Scoring conditions are always prime for low numbers at the John Deere Classic, with the winning score frequently topping 20-under par. If the first round was any indication, scores may go even lower than usual this year with six players already 7-under or better. The tournament will continue Friday with the second round and players may need to shoot in the low 60s just to keep pace.

Steve Stricker holds the tournament record, having scored 26-under en route to winning the event in 2010. Zach Johnson, Rory Sabbatini and Brian Harman are all on pace to top that number, as the three finished Thursday at 8-under 63 to take the first-round lead. The John Deere Classic has been one of Johnson’s strongest events during his career. Since 2011, he’s finished third or better ever year, including a win in 2012. He’s now posted 21 straight rounds in the 60s at TPC Deere Run.

Johnson teed off in the morning wave on Thursday but will play in the afternoon pairings in the second round. He’s scheduled to tee off No. 1 at 1:45 p.m. ET, once again playing with Russell Henley and Ryan Moore. Moore also found some success in the first round, shooting a 5-under round of 66. Sabbatini and Harman will also take part in the afternoon wave. Rising PGA Tour star Harris English will begin the second round at 4-under and within range of the lead. He’ll tee off one group after Johnson, at 1:55 p.m.

Defending John Deere Classic champion Jordan Spieth didn’t get off to a great start, shooting an even-par 71. He carded three birdies, but ran into some trouble with three bogeys. At even par, he’ll open the second round tied for 81st place and will have some work to do in order to make the weekend. The cut line following the first round is projected at 1-under, but that number could dip even lower with another strong scoring day. Spieth will be in one of the first groups on the course when he tees off at 8:30 a.m. along with Stricker and Stewart Cink.

Golf Channel will once again provide television and online coverage. The television broadcast is scheduled to run from 3 to 6 p.m. ET, which should allow viewers to watch a good portion of the afternoon wave. The coverage will also be available online with a live simulcast from NBC Sports LiveExtra. Here is a complete look at the coverage on Friday. All times Eastern.
