RBC Canadian Open 2014: Tee times, TV schedule, online streaming for Saturday

Jim Furyk and home favorite Graham DeLaet will start the weekend at the bottom of the tee sheet on Saturday, trying to end two separate winless droughts.

The RBC Canadian Open has cut the field in half, and after 36 holes, just 6 of the 19 Canadians remain. This is a national championship where the failure of the host nation has started to overwhelm all the other narratives in recent years. It’s been 60 years since a Canadian won the Canadian Open, a remarkable drought given some of the talent that’s come and gone in the intervening years.

The weekend at Royal Montreal will begin with another native hope in contention looking to end the winless streak. Graham DeLaet, one of the more accomplished and talented Canadian players in several years, matched the course record on Friday to jump more than 40 spots into a tie for second place. DeLaet got out in the morning wave, playing alongside Jim Furyk, who also shot a 63, to make a huge move up the board.

Mike Weir is certainly more accomplished, but DeLaet is perhaps the most talented and top ranked Canadian option the host country has had at this event in a decade. His second round 63 at least gives the home crowd a rooting interest over the final 36 holes. He starts Saturday two shots off the lead at 8-under, going out in the penultimate group at 1:46 p.m. ET.

Furyk and Tim Petrovic will anchor the tee sheet nine minutes later. It’s hard to believe that Fuyrk has not won a PGA Tour event since he won the FedExCup in 2010, taking the TOUR Championship and the $10 million final playoffs prize. There have been so many close calls and contentions for Furyk in recent years, but he has yet to close it out on a Sunday afternoon. He’s one of several world-class players backed by the title sponsor this week, and he’ll be the favorite to win on the weekend. He’ll start the second half of his tournament at 1:55 p.m with Petrovic.

Now that the weekend has arrived, Golf Channel will split duties with CBS over the final two rounds. CBS doesn’t typically send their first team north for coverage of this event, so you probably won’t get Jim Nantz. They’re about to start their second-biggest stretch of the season behind the Masters. CBS will take over next week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, where all top 50 in the world are expected to tee it up, and then pick up from there with coverage of the season’s final major. On Saturday, both Golf Channel and CBS will provide their usual simulcast streaming services online. Here are all your media options for the third round:
