It’s not uncommon for a golf ball to get lodged up in a tree on the PGA Tour. This season alone, we’ve seen balls get stuck up in a tree at Pebble Beach and stuck to the side of a cactus at TPC Scottsdale. Last year, Sergio Garcia climbed up a tree and hit a shot out of it. But this one might be a first for the PGA Tour.
Kevin Streelman’s golf ball sticks to tree trunk, embeds under bark at Firestone
This is a new one.

On the third hole at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, Kevin Streelman’s ball stuck to the side of a tree trunk, embedding under some bark.
It’s not clear exactly how the ball arrived in that spot, but presumably it bounced upwards under the bark as opposed to landing in the tree on the fly and getting stuck.
Streelman would take a drop and go on to bogey the hole. It was the start of a 40 on the front nine at Firestone. He’s currently 8-over and in second-to-last place so he may have entertained us for a moment, but he didn’t have much fun on Thursday.
