Dustin Johnson has not been suspended, but is taking a “voluntary leave of absence,” according to a press release from the PGA Tour.
Dustin Johnson not suspended by PGA, taking leave of absence
The Tour denies that Johnson was suspended as a result of a failed cocaine test, as was previously reported.

“With regard to media reports that Dustin Johnson has been been suspended by the PGA TOUR, this is to clarify that Mr. Johnson has taken a voluntary leave of absence and is not under a suspension from the PGA TOUR. The TOUR issued the statement in response to media reports that characterized Johnson’s absence from the TOUR as a suspension.”

The Tour’s statement, which was issued on Friday afternoon, is in contrast to an earlier report of a suspension being imposed on the 30-year-old South Carolina native as a result of a positive cocaine test. Johnson released his own statement on the matter:
“I am taking a leave of absence from professional golf, effective immediately. I will use this time to seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced. By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion. I respectfully ask my fans, well-wishers and the media for privacy as I embark upon this mission of self-improvement.”
Johnson is an eight-time winner on the PGA Tour but has never finished higher than second place in a major championship.
