It’s been a big week for the world’s best golfers pouring cold water over their heads. While the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge first kicked up in golf circles early in the summer, it didn’t really take off until a few weeks ago when Pete Frates, a former Boston College baseball player with ALS, spread it far and wide. Now it’s come back around to hit some of these famous golfers again, most notably Rickie Fowler, who dumped the ice water on his head at the end of June.

Fowler’s second round with the challenge will probably get a lot more play, however, as he led a majority of the U.S. Ryder Cup team in response to the call-out from captain Tom Watson. Lined up (from left to right) with Fowler were Jim Furyk, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, Zach Johnson, Bubba Watson (2x this week for him), and Jimmy Walker.
So who’s left? Missing are Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, and the three captain’s picks, to be announced on September 2. The European side that Fowler just called out won’t have their official auto-qualifiers until the end of August.
Captain Watson started the week, which also included Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy accepting the challenge, when he had a loader douse him.
