WGC Bridgestone Invitational 2014 live stream: How to watch online, TV coverage and more

The WGC-Bridgestone Invitational hasn’t disappointed and appears set for an entertaining finish at Firestone.

Sam Greenwood

In a few weeks, Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia will be teammates on the European Ryder Cup team. Until then, they remain competitors and that competition will be center stage on Sunday when they play in the final pairing of the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. Garcia will open the day with the lead, but McIlroy trails by just three shots.

Although it isn’t quite on the level of the PGA Championship next week, the Bridgestone Invitational is one of the top non-majors of the year. With a field that includes 49 of the top 50 players in the world, winning the event is a nice addition to the career resume. It will also be the second significant title Garcia and McIlroy have battled for in recent weeks. Garcia pushed McIlroy during the final round of the British Open last month, eventually finishing tied for second. Sunday won’t be a two-man show, however, with several other big names within the range of contention. Garcia’s strong opening 54 holes distanced himself from the field some, but Adam Scott, Keegan Bradley and Justin Rose are among the players chasing. All three will begin the final round tied for fourth place at 8-under.

Viewers won’t be able to watch every shot of the final round live, but there will be extended television and online coverage. Golf Channel and CBS will combine to provide more than five hours of live television coverage beginning at 12 p.m. ET. Golf Channel’s broadcast will run until 1:30 p.m. before CBS picks up coverage at 2 p.m. There will be live simulcast streams of both broadcasts. The Golf Channel coverage will be available via a stream from NBC Sports LiveExtra, while the coverage on CBS will be streamed from PGATour.com.

Tiger Woods is well off the lead at 1-over, and his round will begin before television coverage begins. Viewers will still be able to follow his round live thanks to a featured group stream from PGATour.com. Woods will play with Bubba Watson in the final round and the two will be the morning featured group. Garcia and McIlroy will be the featured group in the afternoon.
