Rickie Fowler executes perfect Tiger Woods photobomb at PGA Championship

Well done, Rickie.

David Cannon

The most surreal aspect of waiting for Tiger Woods to either show up at Valhalla or officially withdraw from the PGA Championship was the gaggle of reporters and photographers hanging out in a parking lot. They went there all week without word that Tiger was actually coming, snapping photos of an empty parking spot and sign with his name on it. When reports surfaced he was showing up on Wednesday, they flocked to the parking lot en masse ... for an extended wait after the PGA of America jumped the gun and announced he was on the grounds.

After that false start, Tiger finally arrived and dramatically exited his vehicle to put on some shoes. Unfortunately for those chasing photographers, Rickie Fowler strolled right through their shot for a perfectly-timed photobomb. Fowler has done this before at a major championship, entertaining the crowds and photobombing interviews during a rain delay at last year’s U.S. Open. But given all the stupid anticipation of a guy getting out of his car, this was exquisite.

Update: Ryan Palmer also got in on the fun, getting in the way of this shot as Tiger approached a bridge at Valhalla.
