Pin placements for Thursday’s first round at the PGA Championship

There are some players who said Valhalla could present one of the easiest major championship setups ever this week. It’s a long course, but with several birdie holes. The soft August conditions also allow players to take aim at many of the pins. The maintenance crews were reportedly out on the course Wednesday night trying to dry them out and firm them up a bit, and the club could have turned on the SubAir system overnight. But many of these pins should still be gettable and conditions relatively benign for a major.
