Greg Norman almost sawed off his hand

A chainsaw almost took the Shark’s left hand.

Greg Norman doesn’t play too much competitive golf anymore, but he still remains active and pops up at different events throughout the year. This weekend, however, his competitive golf career nearly came to an end for good. The Shark almost cut off his hand with a chainsaw.

Norman, or more likely someone close to him, put a photo on Instagram of himself in a hospital bed with some sort of contraption surrounding his left arm. The caption read:

Working with a chainsaw ALWAYS be respectful of the unexpected. I was one lucky man today. Damaged, but not down & out. Still have left hand

He was also in good enough spirits to tag a couple emojis on the end of his note, which is always fun to see from a 59-year-old golfer who almost just lost a limb.

Just a week ago, Norman posted a photo of himself “trimming the sea grapes” with a chainsaw.

By Sunday morning, he was back at the “scene of the crime” with that ridiculous looking purple pad on his hand, posing with a two thumbs-up, one of which peeked through the hole at the end of his new block arm.

And the sometimes-golfer and broadcaster was still out there using emojis. “Thank u all for your concern & good wishes. All well the morning after the accident. Here I am at the scene of the crime w/my new fashion statement!”
