Phil Mickelson can’t get a high-five from Keegan Bradley

Keegan Bradley leaves Ryder Cup fourball partner Phil Mickelson hanging after the duo downs Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia in a Friday morning fourball match.

Phil Mickelson may have connected on the birdie putt that sealed his and Keegan Bradley’s fourball win over Rory McIlroy and Sergio Garcia, but Lefty came up a little short in the post-game celebration.

It seems his New England Patriots-loving partner left the five-time major champion hanging when he walked right by his aborted attempt at a high-five after closing out Europe’s top players, 1-up, in Friday morning play.

The artless scene brought us back to the 2013 NFL season when the Patriots signal-caller could not get anyone to slap him back. Tom Brady even called out Robert Kraft for doing the same to Mark Wahlberg, a recent guest in the Pats owner’s luxury box who made his host a victim of the team’s apparently contagious “negligent high-fiving.”

Of course, even when golfers actually do make jubilant contact, the results can be rather awkward (see: Tiger Woods-Matt Kuchar nerdy Presidents Cup revival of the “Fresh Prince” handshake).
