The 2014 Ryder Cup will come down to the final day at Gleneagles on Sunday and the European side will begin in prime position to take home the trophy for the third straight time. The Americans started off the morning session on Day 1 well, but it’s been all Europe since and the home team will open the final day with a 10-6 advantage. That is the same advantage the United States held in 2012 when the Europeans rallied for a historic comeback win at Medinah. Whether or not the Americans are able to pull off a historic comeback of their own, viewers in the United States will have multiple options to watch the action live, including online streams.
Ryder Cup 2014 streaming: How to watch Sunday’s singles matches live online
The 2014 Ryder Cup comes to a close on Sunday and it’s either going to be a third straight win for the Europeans or a historic comeback from the Americans.

NBC will handle the Sunday broadcast, with television coverage running from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET. That is a late start compared to the previous two days which had viewers on the East coast waking up in the middle of the night. Viewers will be able to watch that same broadcast live online, thanks to a live simulcast stream from NBC Sports LiveExtra. The stream will run concurrent with the broadcast, beginning at 7 a.m. Mobile users and those with Samsung Smart televisions will have additional options to stream online. The Ryder Cup app on Apple and Android devices will include live video on “Ryder Cup Live” beginning at 6:30 a.m. The coverage will also be available with the Ryder Cup app on Smart TVs.
The Ryder Cup app will also provide live radio coverage as will PGA Tour Radio on Sirius-XM. PGA Tour Radio’s coverage will begin bright and early at 5:30 a.m. The only coverage viewers won’t be able to see online or on mobile devices will be the “alternate shot” coverage from Golf Channel. That broadcast will run from 7 to 11:30 a.m., with David Feherty leading the commentary.
With the various forms of television and online coverage, viewers will be able to watch the vast majority of the final day live. Jordan Spieth will lead things off for the Americans. He will match up with Graeme McDowell and the two are set to tee off at 6:36 a.m. ET, just before live coverage begins. Patrick Reed will follow Spieth off the tee for the American side and he’ll square off against Henrik Stenson. Rickie Fowler, Hunter Mahan and Phil Mickelson will round out the first five players off the tee for the United States.
If the Americans are going to take the trophy, they will need to win at least 8.5 points. Five wins and seven halves would give the United States the necessary 14.5 points to win in Europe for the first time since 1993. Getting some points in every match is unlikely, so the U.S. will likely need closer to six or seven straight-up victories. As the defending champions, the Europeans only need to finish with 14 points to retain the cup.
