Patrick Reed goes 2-up and can’t stop screaming

“I tell you what, if there’s 12 Patrick Reeds on this team, you wouldn’t be 10-6 down, I can assure you. There’s a bit of pride, passion, patriotism here. I think he’s fantastic, I really do.”

You might think that quote comes from American TV commentator, but it’s actually Colin Montgomerie, native Scot and historic USA Ryder Cup antagonist. It appears Reed is winning over fans on both sides of the Atlantic, including the host country’s most famous Ryder Cup hero.

This birdie putt at at the 12th hole put Reed 2-up on Swede Henrik Stenson, one of Europe’s most formidable player. He didn’t go for the “Shhhhhhh” move but he screamed his entire way off the green, yelling at the crowd until he got to the pathway to the next tee.

Reed continues to be the USA’s most emotional player and one of its best. Based on this week’s showing, he’s going to be on the team for many years to come.
