Unfortunately for Jason Day, all strokes count the same, even if the ball only goes a yard. #QuickHits http://t.co/qRGfurlIuh
— PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) April 26, 2015 Jason Day’s golf ball travels 1 yard after failed punch shot nails tree trunk

Here’s Jason Day, the No. 6 player in the world at the time, hitting a punch shot from the forest and getting the result that with which so many weekend hackers are well-acquianted. When you’re in the woods however, there’s about a 50 percent chance your attempted punch shot is going to catch a tree square and your ball will end up next to you or behind you. It’s a hit it and hope approach.
But not with these pros. Nope, you never see them hit a shot (not a putt) that’s measured at just one yard. Day, however, managed to pull it off on Sunday in New Orleans on his way to a bogey at one of the easiest holes on the course.
