2015 AT&T Byron Nelson: Tee times, pairings for Sunday’s final round

The Byron Nelson is on track for a regularly scheduled finish at TPC Four Seasons in Dallas, which is a minor miracle given the week of disastrous weather.

Somehow, some way, the 2015 Byron Nelson got to Sunday in Dallas with 54 holes complete and with an on-time finish within reach. This two-week stop in the Dallas-Fort Worth area has been a logistical nightmare for the PGA Tour. Thunderstorms have pounded the area, creating a constant start-stop two tournament stretch at Colonial last week and TPC Four Seasons this week. Every round has been delayed, pushed back or rescheduled in one form or another as Tour officials scramble to get everything in across four days. This week, the Tour even had to cut a 400-yard hole into a 100-yard hole because torrential rain made the fairway completely unplayable. It’s been a circus.

Sunday’s schedule will be more of the same from the last week -- groups of three off split tees and in a two-hour window of condensed tee times. That’s been one of the keys to the Tour getting everyone through 72 holes at Colonial and in Dallas. The first group won’t go off until just after 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. local), while the leaders are scheduled to hit the first tee just before 1 p.m. CBS will have the broadcast, which should not run on tape delay if there are no more weather interruptions on Sunday. They finish is scheduled for right around 6 p.m. on CBS, but if there are no more delays, the final group should come in a little before that.

Dustin Johnson is the headliner near the top of the leaderboard. He’s the most talented player in contention and now sits as the favorite following a Saturday round of 62. Johnson was so hot at one point that there was some idle chatter about putting him on #59Watch during the third round, but instead he “settled” for the 7-under round and a 24-spot jump up the leaderboard. The 62 matches Steven Bowditch’s 62 on Thursday for the round of the tournament. Bowditch, of course, posted that on a par-70 course before the Tour had to severely alter that 14th hole and make it a par-3 because of the flooding.

Bowditch will play with Johnson and Scott Pinckney in the final group at TPC Four Seasons. He’s won in Texas before while being chased by bigger names, and his 62-68-65 streak this week has the Dallas resident two shots clear of the field with 18 to go. In addition to DJ, Jimmy Walker is the other big-name contender at 11-under. Walker is probably the most consistent and successful American player on the PGA Tour over the past two seasons. It’s likely he’s still there on the back nine with a chance to win it.

The tournament has been a mess through three days, but we head to Sunday with a regularly scheduled finish within reach and with a few big names in contention. That’s a minor miracle after the week started, as Brendon Todd noted, without a dry spot on any fairway and then proceeded through three soggy days of tournament play. Here’s the full tee sheet for Sunday’s final round:
