Billy Horschel has lost it with ‘worst’ U.S. Open greens, mocks them for TV cameras

Billy Horschel, a day after joining the swelling chorus of voices decrying the state of the greens at Chambers Bay, came oh so close to making one of them just a tad more unplayable.

Horschel had a strong start to his final round on Sunday, with birdies on three of his first five holes. A missed short putt for par on No. 6 made the reigning FedExCup champ a tad grumpy, though kudos to Billy Ho for not putting a dent in the vegetable patch.

Another missed putt -- this time for a birdie on the par-3 9th that would have pushed him to 4-under for the day and just eights shots back of the four co-leaders -- had Horschel in full snake dance mode.

In case anyone in the cheap seats (which apparently covers most of the vantage points at Chambers Bay) missed what Horschel was trying to illustrate about the spotchy, uneven surfaces, he snaked his arm a second time as he walked off the green. Imagine the antics if the young man were actually stinking up the joint, but he made the turn at 3-under for the day.
