Victor Dubuisson, Danny Lee take frustrations out on their golf clubs

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Victor Dubuisson and Danny Lee were playing on opposite sides of the Atlantic on Sunday, and while both of the PGA Tour pros struggled with the tools of their trade, they dealt with the misbehaving clubs in different ways.

Dubuisson, after making a bogey-5 on the 18th hole and carding a final-round 1-over 73 at the BMW International Open in Germany, displayed his disdain for any stick that got in the way of the bottom of his foot, by giving his Titleists a good pounding.

The Frenchman, who rose to prominence with his wedge wizardry during last year’s match play contest with Jason Day, finished T20 and may be putting in a call to his friendly Acushnet rep.

Lee, on his way to a T25 finish at the Travelers Championship in Connecticut, took a kinder, gentler approach. He decided his naughty driver needed a change of scenery, so he chose one lucky, but seemingly somewhat confused, fan as the recipient of his Callaway Big Bertha Alpha.

Lee will, no doubt, be seeking a replacement stick from Carlsbad before Thursday’s start of the Greenbrier Classic.
