2015 Memorial Tournament: Tee times, pairings for Sunday’s round at Muirfield Village

In last place at Muirfield Village, Tiger Woods will play all alone for the first time in his career on Sunday.

The final round of the Memorial will feature some of the top talents in the game playing for a title at Jack Nicklaus’ place Sunday afternoon. But it’s the first guy out in the morning who will, as always, be the biggest story coming out of the weekend at Muirfield Village.

For the first time in his career, Tiger Woods will play alone. It’s probably for the best -- he’ll zip through his 18 holes without a partner in close to three hours. The only intrigue may be if he can wrap things up closer to two hours and then get the hell out of town.

Woods finds himself at the top of the tee sheet thanks to that career-worst round of 85 on Saturday. Aesthetically, it may not have been as ugly as the previous career worst (82) he set at the Waste Management Phoenix Open earlier this year. But after all the “progress” in his “process” we’ve heard about, the third round at Memorial was rock bottom. His wildness off the tee continued, his irons were imprecise and missed both left and right, his putter, which had held his scorecard together, left him, and those chipping woes crept up at different times down the stretch. It was difficult to watch the quadruple bogey on 18, which featured all of those weak spots -- a yanked drive left into some water, two awful duff’d chips, and a 14-time major winner that looked beaten.

Tiger, obviously and understandably, decided not to speak to the media after the round. We’ll see how Sunday goes but it’s a safe assumption he does not want to be there. It’s a tough spot -- most would simply mail it in and play the round as fast as possible. But with Tiger, we watch and overanalyze every shot so a half-hearted round that looked anything like Saturday’s disaster will amplify the scrutiny. He’s already SIX SHOTS worse than the guy in second-to-last place, so what’s a few more.

The problem, however, is that this will be Tiger’s final round before the U.S. Open. That’s the “toughest test in golf,” so if he’s shooting 85 on a Muirfield Village course under good scoring conditions, the indignity that awaits in two weeks could be much, much worse. So he’ll probably use the round to get some reps, work on whatever it is he’s trying to do with his swing with Chris Como, and try to take something away from it that he can use at Chambers Bay.

A competitive round is not the best place to work on your swing, so there will be plenty more missed fairways Sunday for Tiger. He heads out at 8:10 a.m. ET, and should be done well before your Sunday brunch starts. Here’s the full tee sheet for Sunday’s final round:
