2015 British Open weather forecast: Rain and wind will become a problem at St. Andrews

Golfers will have to deal with rain and strong winds during the 144th British Open, but what days will have the biggest impact?

Weather remains a concern for the 144th Open Championship at St Andrews. High wind and rain showers are likely over the next four days, with Friday through Saturday as the worst of the weather conditions.

THURSDAY - OPENING ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Mostly cloudy and breezy for the opening round but also mostly dry. Winds will be out of the east-southeast between 10 to 20 mph and occasional gusts near 25 mph - High 60

FRIDAY - SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
A strong storm system passes to the west and north of the British Isles but will spread rain and strong winds, especially Friday afternoon. This will be more of a problem for the golfers going out later in the day. Winds will be out of the west between 15 to 25 mph and gusts could be as highs as 35 to 45 mph. SATURDAY - THIRD ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
More of the same for Saturday with occasional showers and strong southwesterly winds. Winds could gust to near 40 mph during the morning with sustained winds 15 to 25 mph. High 61

SUNDAY - FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Less wind and drier conditions are expected. It will remain cloudy to mostly cloudy with just a chance of a passing shower. Winds will not be as strong, as they will be between 5 to 15 mph with a few gusts near 20 mph. Winds will be out of the west-southwest through the day. High 59
