A storm system passing through the British Isles will bring rain and wind to St. Andrews Friday and Saturday. Rain will be heavy at times and the U.K. Met Office has issued a weather advisory for St. Andrews due to the heavy rain. The rain could cause some disruptions across the region, and forced almost a four hour delay in play at the start of the second round.

Local weather offices in the U.K. have issued advisories due to heavy rain. But it won’t just be the rain the golfers have to deal with Friday and Saturday at St. Andrews.
Winds will also be very strong Friday and Saturday, gusting to near 40 and in some places 50 mph. If the golfers wanted to experience all that St. Andrews could throw at them, they are getting it this weekend.
FRIDAY - SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
A strong storm system passes to the west and north of the British Isles and will spread steady to heavy rain showers and strong winds, especially Friday afternoon. This will be more of a problem for the golfers going out later in the day. Winds will be out of the west between 15 to 25 mph and gusts could be as highs as 35 to 45 mph. More of the same for Saturday with occasional showers and strong southwesterly winds. Winds could gust to near 40 to 50 mph during the morning with sustained winds 15 to 25 mph. High 58
SUNDAY - FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Less wind and drier conditions are expected. It will remain cloudy to mostly cloudy with just a chance of a passing shower. Winds will not be as strong, as they will be between 5 to 15 mph with a few gusts near 20 mph. Winds will be out of the west-southwest through the day. High 59
